Perry signs Texas abortion restrictions into law
Thu Jul 18, 2013
seriously how can this law be bad - this is about PROTECTING the women. The bill will require abortion clinic doctors to have hospital admitting privileges, that means if something happens to the woman she can be readily admitted to the hospital! restrict abortions to surgical centers,
Twinkie's last stand: It's up to a mediator

Business have to pay for more than the wages that people take home.... you are all forgetting the EMPLOYER pays for the following. 1) 1/2 of FICA (4.5 % of the pay right now or close to that) 2) Unemployment taxes (those are decided by the states... could be upwards of 10% of the salary of the per …

Komen backs off decision on funding cuts
Thu Feb 2, 2012
I personally will donate to NEITHER of these groups. 1) If I want to donate for Breast Cancer than I will do it where more than 24% of my money actually goes to research. (Komen's figure is really that low!) 2) I wouldn't donate to planned parenthood EVER. Their own founder was a huge rasicst that w …
Obama proposes $5-10 billion for home refinancing
Wed Feb 1, 2012
this does NOTHING to help those that "are in trouble" - in order to "qualify" for this lovely "program" you aren't allowed to be late more than once in the last 12 month and MUST BE CURRENT on your mortgage now. So "help" for people isn't really help, it's help for those that couldn't otherwise refi …

Deputies refuse to evict 103-year-old woman
Wed Nov 30, 2011
I have to agree here there is more to this story than what is being reported. How do you have a mortgage after 50+ years in a house? If a second was taken then WHOEVER took out that second or refinanced the home is responsible for paying that money back... No bank would loan money to women without p …

Mon Nov 14, 2011
Seriously? What about everything by the pound or dozen.. there is always a charge if you wanted less - go to Krispy Kreme's a dozen is something like 7.00 but a single donut is a buck... Everyone does this - the only thing was that starbucks didn't have the price clearly marked for the smaller amoun …
Outrage over Netflix rate hike continues
Wed Jul 13, 2011
I voted with my dollars. Cancelled the DVD's which I don't watch anyway and kept the streaming - net loss to Netflix of 2.00. If I find a better solution on HuluPlus or Amazon I"ll cancel the streaming too.
